Possibility of ffmpeg with transpose?

I just wrote about mms not being available in ffmpeg, and I just came
across another "problem" of sorts immediately after sending the message.
I was wondering if it would be possible to include the filter for
transposing. I was looking to rotate some of my videos and it turns out
that ffmpeg hadn't been compiled with the necessary filter.

I'm not 100% how it all works, but I personally feel that it is a very
useful tool to have and I would think it would be wanted by many. Is
there any possibility that we can see it (and maybe any other useful
filters/tools of the same genre) in upcoming packages?
