Christian,

I am wondering if there is a conflict in the repository which renders acroread
uninstallable....

blackbox:~# apt-get install acroread
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
acroread : Depends: acroread-debian-files (>= 0.2.12) but it is not going to
be installed
E: Broken packages
blackbox:~# apt-cache policy acroread
acroread:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 9.4.2-0.0
  Version table:
     9.4.2-0.0 0
        500 http://www.debian-multimedia.org/ wheezy/non-free i386 Packages
blackbox:~# apt-cache policy acroread-debian-files
acroread-debian-files:

     0.2.5 0
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
blackbox:~#

Thanks,
Rainer
