Please CC me if somebody replies as I'm not subscribed to either list.
I have been trying to play a VCD it plays with mplayer1 fine but is
unable to play with mplayer2. Can somebody tell me if its a bug or
something else. First some info. about the VCD in question :-

Now here's the info. when I play the CD first with mplayer2 and then
with mplayer1.
With mplayer2 :-

It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read
DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there.
We can't and
won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a
possible bug.

As can be seen it tries to use or go through different decoders and
then finds one which can actually play the file.
I have no idea why it does not work with mplayer2. Maybe as a user I'm
not giving the right command or something.
Also as can be seen there is sorta empty file at ~/.mplayer :-
