i upgraded to myth 0.26.0+fixes20130716-dmo1 about a week ago and have
been noticing that editing a recording (to cut out ads and pre-/post-
recording buffer) doesn't work reliably any more.
at first i though it was a problem with keyframe indexes, because moving
forward and then back by keyframe in the editor doesn't take you back to
the same frame, but then i noticed the same thing happening with moving
by seconds or minutes.
i've even had one recording have the first 10 minutes or so of the
program cut out - even though in the editor, it *looked* like the cuts
were in the right place. i haven't been game to risk a cut & transcode
again since then.
anyone else experiencing problems with myth, lossless transcodes and
cutlist editing?
my normal practice is for myth recordings to be losslessly transcoded
and scanned for ads(*), then edit the recording to cut everything but
the actual program, and then lossless transcode again. and then i watch
it. i don't really care much about compression (i've got more recordings
than i'll ever get around to watching and still have terabytes of disk
space free), but i do care about interruptions while i'm watching a
recording.
FYI, my myth box is is running debian sid with the DMO unstable repo.
hardware is a Phenom II X6 1090T with 16GB RAM, about 6TB of zfsonlinux
raidz storage, and 3 DVB-T tuner cards.
(*) ad-detection hasn't worked reliably for ages, so i should just
disable that job anyway.
