I had a chat with a deafbeef dev and they have released a patch for
this bug:

However s/he told me it's a bug with gtk:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=735428 I applied the patch
to the source for testing and it does indeed work. I'll leave it up to
