Well, sometime ago when I asked here about mythv and mysql/mariadb, I was
told that mariadb is not a simple replacement for mysql. So while it may
work now, it may stop working in the future, if mythtv upstream won’t
support mariadb.
And if I remember correctly from the mythtv lists, upstream wishes to
drop the dependency for external databases and likes to bundle mythtv
with an integrated database.
