I'm trying to install mythtv 0.28-dmo7 from the scratch on a new
computer running Debian testing and I encounter a lot of problems.
Looks like I will have to analyse various logs, but according to
aptitude mythlogserver it is not available in version 0.28-dmo7. Is this
really so?
I try to follow /usr/share/doc/mythtv/README.Debian. Is it up to date?
In particular, does
sudo service mythtv-backend stop
really stop the backend? Here are the results of my test:
--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
jsbien@VivoPC-D8:~$ sudo -u mythtv ps x
[sudo] password for jsbien:
PID TTY STAT TIME COMMAND
3613 ? Ssl 3:10 /usr/bin/mythbackend --daemon --pidfile /var/run/myth
11360 pts/0 R+ 0:00 ps x
jsbien@VivoPC-D8:~$ sudo service mythtv-backend stop
jsbien@VivoPC-D8:~$ sudo -u mythtv ps x
PID TTY STAT TIME COMMAND
3613 ? Ssl 3:10 /usr/bin/mythbackend --daemon --pidfile /var/run/myth
11397 pts/0 R+ 0:00 ps x
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---
Is my test incorrect or the results are wrong?
Best regards
Janusz
