Perhaps I misinterpreted the statement
Typically, the default value for --loglevel and --verbose are
appropriate for normal application execution.

Thanks, it helped.
When checking for local6 I noticed I still have
/etc/rsyslog.d/mythtv.conf from the old mythlogserver package. I think
the file is quite useful and perhaps it deserves moving to some other
package.
