Subject: Is there anybody still active on that list? Was: RME HDSPe AIO firmware and driver
I wonder if there anybody is using this mailing list. I don't receive
any mails! (Not only regarding to my thread). I completely received not
a single mail from this list.

I build and installed
        alsa-driver_1.0.24-hdspe-aio_amd64.deb
        alsa-lib_1.0.24.1-hdspe-aio_amd64.deb
        alsa-utils_1.0.24.2-hdspe-aio_amd64.deb
        alsa-firmware_1.0.24.1-hdspe-aio_amd64.deb
I don't know what commands to run, to build alsa-tools-1.0.24.1, so I
installed

http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/a/alsa-tools/alsa-tools_1.0.24.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb

http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/a/alsa-tools/alsa-tools-gui_1.0.24.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb

http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/multiverse/a/alsa-tools/alsa-firmware-loaders_1.0.24.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb
from the Ubuntu pool, for my Non-Ubuntu, but Debian.
I didn't build and didn't install
        alsa-oss-1.0.17
        alsa-plugins-1.0.24
        pyalsa-1.0.24
Then I rebooted. As expected, now ALSA is broken. I tried this and that
and next I'll try is adding the Ubuntu repositories and ... to be
continued.

That's exactly what I don't want, just because I'm curious how a RME
card does sound, I'll get it to work, before I return the card to my
dealer.

Any hints how I get this card working are welcome.

Any hints for a sound device, that doesn't sound as bad as M-Audio
Deltas and similar sound cards, with similar extreme loss of sound
quality, but that will work OOTB with Linux, are welcome too.

The best software is useless, when it's impossible or time consuming to
get hardware working.

Cheers!
