Personally I have always made a separate partition using separate drives
mounted as /storage which contain all the recordings and art as well as
backups. It is currently a ZFS raid pool as I am not keen on bitrot.
This standalone partition ONLY belongs to mythtv. Been using the
/storage partition idea for ten years and operating systems and mythtv
versions have all come and gone but I always keep what I have, here
database backups are important.
